Principle

Développement économique LaSalle’s Social Economy program aims at putting in concrete form, developing and consolidating social economy projects or businesses by means of assistance both financial and technical.

Amissibility Criteria

Développement économique LaSalle, within a perspective of project complimentarity and territorial organization, will favour cooperation between the various social economy projects and businesses and will try, within its means, to avoid an infiltration of competition between projects in which it invests.

The Social Economy program mainly aims to help social economy projects and businesses that are setting-up or expanding but will also help consolidating those that are already in existence on the territory.

Admissible Sectors of Activity

Must be an incorporated non-profit organization or a coop having as its principal mission the supply of goods and/or services within a social economy sector; or be a community organism having a cultural, and/or  recreational/tourism, and/or patrimonial component developing an autonomous social economy project within the organism, in conjunction with its current activities.

Modes of Financial Aid

Pre Start-up Stage

  • Maximum of 80% of admissible expenses up to $5,000 for new structures, and $10,000 for existing structures.

Creation/Expansion Stage 

  • Within this stage, Développement économique LaSalle’s contribution is set at a maximum 80% of admissible expenses, up to $40,000.

Consolidation Stage

Développement économique LaSalle’s contribution will not exceed :

  • The autonomous annual revenues and will be topped at $40,000;
  • A maximum of two (2) requests for funding as part of the consolidation phase, at the rate of one per year (consecutive or not).

Training

  • Financial aid may reimburse 80% of relevant expenses related to training programs if preauthorised by Développement économique LaSalle;
  • A total $1,000 budget, specific to an organisation, for training related to management comes with each subsidy granted within the previous phases.
